Motherhood

“Because of Motherhood I had this new sense of confidence. The program was always so positive that I just knew everything would eventually work out for us.”

Help and Support When She Needed It Most

Erin Fetty and her husband, Brandon, knew they were going to have twins, but they weren’t particularly concerned. The couple were already experienced parents of two young children, and they knew what to expect when it was time to bring their babies home. Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out as they’d anticipated.

“When I brought the twins home I really struggled with breastfeeding,” said Erin. “They just wouldn’t latch on and they weren’t getting much when they nursed. It was a hard time.”

When a friend at church encouraged Erin to contact CDR’s Motherhood program for support, she didn’t waste any time.

“Before I knew it, I had support and help,” said Erin. “Everyone was so patient and helpful.”

Since Erin’s two older children needed her close by, Motherhood lactation consultants helped the newborns and their mother at the Fettys’ home, working around the young family’s busy schedule. “They even made sure there was someone around to hold the second baby when I was nursing,” Erin said. “It was amazing.”

Erin also participated in Motherhood’s infant massage class, where she learned how to calm a fussy baby and encourage relaxation techniques and sleep.

“The fellowship I had with the other mothers in the class was so important to me. It was like having extended family come into my life at just the right time.”
