Center for Professional Development

For over 25 years, CDR has trained child development professionals throughout the country and internationally. More than 10,000 Head Start and Early Head Start staff, child care providers, and other early childhood staff; early intervention personnel; health professionals; and families have increased their knowledge and skills through CDR training. Training is offered by CDR’s Center for Professional Development on a fee for service basis and by funded projects at no cost to participants.

CDR offers skilled consultants to provide state of the art training and technical (T/TA) services to child development professionals to help them address today’s most pressing issues in providing quality services to young children and their families.

Colonial Community Pilot for Social, Emotional, and Behavioral (SEB) Development

The pilot project is designed to improve the capacity and competence of child care providers to recognize and address the social, emotional, and behavioral (SEB) development of infants and toddlers. The project provides training, on-site coaching and behavioral consultation to child care centers and family home providers.

Virginia Infant & Toddler Specialist Network

Smart Beginnings Historic Triangle
Smart Beginnings Historic Triangle is a partnership of public and private businesses to improve the school readiness of preschool children living in the greater Williamsburg area of Virginia. CDR is the fiscal agent.

Investing in Fatherhood

CDR’s Investing in Fatherhood project provides parenting education, information, and mentoring for fathers of young children in the Williamburg, Virginia area. The project is funded by the Administration for Children and Families, Office of Family Assistance.
